What to black out before you upload

The check only needs dates, descriptions, amounts and running balances. Everything else can be redacted first:

  • Your name and address
  • Account numbers, BSB and customer IDs
  • Card numbers or merchant details in transaction descriptions

CSV or Excel: delete the columns you don't want us to read. PDF or paper: black out the details with an editor or marker before scanning.

Not ready for real statements? The runs the full check on a fictional loan.

The amount still owing at the start of the period — not the original loan amount.

Declared by you. If your loan statement prints a rate table (usually "Interest Rates (per annum) on Debit Balances"), it is read automatically and used instead.

The offset account balance on the day before the statement period. Read from the statement's balance column automatically when available.

The offset benefit your bank actually applied for the period. Without it we can recalculate your expected benefit but cannot audit the bank's figure.

The statement period is detected automatically from your uploaded transactions; set it explicitly for the most accurate result — quiet days at the start or end of a period still earn offset benefit.
