What Offsetcheck is

Offsetcheck is an independent checking tool. It re-calculates the interest charged on your home loan and the benefit credited by your offset account — line by line, to the cent — from figures you provide. Offsetcheck is not a bank, lender, broker or financial adviser, and is not affiliated with any bank or lending institution.

Estimates, not advice

Results depend entirely on the data you put in. Our calculations are good-faith estimates based on standard daily-interest arithmetic: daily interest = (loan balance − offset balance) × annual rate ÷ 365. Your lender's system may apply different conventions — rounding rules, day-count methods, fee treatments — and their figure is the one on your statement.

Nothing on this site is financial, legal or tax advice. A discrepancy is a reason to ask your lender questions — and to consult a qualified professional — not a conclusion on its own.

Your responsibilities

  • Only check statements you are entitled to access — your own, or a client's with their authority.
  • Check the inputs. A result built on a wrong rate or balance is a wrong result.
  • Protect your exports. Anything you download (reports, letters) is yours to keep safe.
  • Don't misuse the service: no attempting to disrupt the site, misrepresent results, or use the Offsetcheck name or brand without permission.

Pricing and beta

The free tier is free. Paid tiers shown on this site are planned pricing and may change before launch; any change will be posted on this page and the pricing section before it takes effect. No card is collected today.

Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law — including rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded — Offsetcheck is not liable for decisions you make based on its estimates, or for any indirect or consequential loss. If we are found liable for something, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (for most users today, $0.00).

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the product evolves; the date at the top moves when they do. Questions about these terms: contact us. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
